SACRED HEART CHURCH
Fort Wayne, Indiana
Sacred Heart is a mid-century church built for the Hungarian community of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Our work here included a new baldacchino to highlight and enhance the altar and tabernacle, restoration of the terrazzo floor, new wood surrounds for the side entries to the Sacristies, and improved lighting. Working with a 1950’s interior made primarily of concrete block was a challenge but the resulting balance of woodwork, decorative painting and the original block succeeds aesthetically and creates an interior balance never accomplished here.
